If you message me with “Hey” I will answer “Hay is for horses.”  “Hello”, “Greetings” are proper conversation starter words.

If you message me with “Hey beautiful,” “You look great,” or any variation of the compliment starter pack… congratulations, you just sent a photo comment. ? You had 900 + pictures to choose from, and get excited about. That’s not conversation, that’s decoration.  If you add “I really loved Photo Number.” and tell me why, you have moved from decoration to conversation starter.

Now, a message, a real message, has three things:
Substance – Say something that shows you actually went passed the photos and read words in my profile headline.
Stimulating – Challenge me. Make me think. Or at least make me laugh.
Interesting – Give me a reason to respond beyond “Thank you.”

Compliments are fine, but conversation? That’s currency.
If you want to connect, bring words that matter. Otherwise, I’ll assume you just got lost on your way to the message section. ?
